The annual international women’s curling competition is back. The 2023 World Women’s Curling Championship is set to begin this Saturday in Sweden.
The World Women’s Curling Championship is an international women’s curling tournament. A women’s curling discipline is a women’s event. Accordingly, each team consists of four players, two men and two women. World Women’s Curling replaces the previous iteration of the “European Women’s Curling Championship“, which was established in 2005 and ran until 2014. Since its inception in 2015, the event has been held annually in the fall. The event has been canceled for the past two years due to Covid-19.
The World Women’s Curling Championship is an international level curling competition for the women’s discipline. The event was established in 1979 and has been held every year since then.
The next iteration of the event is officially titled “LGT World Women’s Curling Championship 2023“. This will be the 44th annual edition of the popular women’s curling competition.
Like every year, the event will be divided into two phases – round robin and playoffs. In the round robin, teams will play up to 20 draws. After that only 6 teams will qualify for the playoffs.
